HANDY TIPS AND INFO FOR YOUR BIG DAY.....

  • A quick yoga breathing tip for any wedding day nerves.... There are a huge number of nerves around the stomach which is why we feel 'butterflies' when we are nervous. Which happens to even the most zen of brides - we are all human after all!! A great breathing exercise to calm and settle a jittery tummy starts by inhaling through the nose then exhaling powerfully through your mouth making a 'shhhhh' sound. It also helps to calm a racing pulse so good for post exercise too!

  • Drink plenty of water in the lead up to your big day as this will help flush out toxins boosting your skin's vitality as well as insuring you have plenty of energy for the day itself.

  • Keep a little blot powder in either translucent or one that matches your skin tone on you throughout the day (maybe ask a bridesmaid or lovely friend to keep it in their bag for you) as this is very handy for quick touch ups before photos or later in the day. I suggest the same for any lipstick you are wearing.

  • If you are going to have a facial before your wedding, book it in at least a week beforehand so ensure your skin in calm and happy in time for your makeup application.

  • One of my most favourite shopping days ever was a visit to Elizabeth Avey's wedding dress studio in North London ahead of my friend Debbie's wedding a couple of years ago. Elizabeth sources the most beautiful vintage wedding dresses from all over the world. Plus you get a lovely cup of tea/glass of bubbly and cupcake as part of the experience: www.elizabethavey.com

  • Looking for a fun wedding experience? Then check out my friend Jon Kempner's photobooth service at www.snappabox.com!

  • Have fun! I know a great deal of time and energy goes into organising a wedding but things all get sorted in the end and remember the power of delegation. This is your day so let yourself be pampered and don't sweat the small stuff - 12 hours or so with all the ones you love and alongside one you truly love is a precious time so relax where you can and enjoy every moment...
